Longtime Alabama Baptist pastor William Herbert “Herb” Thrasher Sr. died July 25. He was 79.
Thrasher served as a bivocational pastor of churches in the Bessemer, Pleasant Grove and Bibb Baptist associations for 42 years. His churches included East Brookwood Baptist, Brookwood; Shady Grove Baptist, Bessemer; and Rock Mountain Lakes Baptist, McCalla, which he planted and served as its founding pastor.
Thrasher is survived by his wife, Lois, of 58 years; three children; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers. (TAB)
