‘Our best Christmas card ever’
The Christmas card my wife thought of when our children were young was one we truly enjoyed sending.
It brought home the Christmas message and was meaningful for the children.
Once mailed, it caused a sensation with our church, school and family community. It was quite unexpected.
Some examples of the response are that we had calls from people we had never exchanged Christmas cards with before. They had heard about it and just had to have one.
There were so many strong hints, we decided to order extra.
A couple of friends we sent it to told us they have taken it out each year and recycled it as part of their Christmas display.
One relative kept it in his top drawer all year long to view. The children’s schoolteachers and fellow students buzzed about it.
To do this card, you, of course, have to have children or grandchildren of the appropriate sexes. Choose the children’s clothing and shoot at least one roll of film.
However, after you get the shot you want, it is relatively easy to do.
It would even be a good Christmas card from a church or, if allowed, from schoolchildren.
At least to us, it felt special to spread the genuine Christmas message by honoring the Christ child’s holy family through our family members’ personal Christmas cards.
