Former HMB missionary Tula Seward dies at 85

WHITTIER, Calif. — Tula Avie Seward, an Albertville native and former Home Mission Board (HMB, now the North American Mission Board) missionary, died Feb. 13. She was 85. A graduate of Judson College in Marion and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., she did missions work in inner-city Miami before meeting her husband, Allen, and moving to serve at Highland Baptist Church, Florence. The two later served with the HMB in Colorado and New Mexico, working among American Indians.

She is survived by her husband, one son, two daughters, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
