Jerome King is the new director of missions for East Liberty Association. King comes to East Liberty from First Church, Shawmut, in Valley, where he was pastor for almost 20 years. He previously served as pastor of Wayside Church, Alexander City, and as an associate pastor in Tennessee and a youth pastor in Texas. King has served as chairman of the Alabama Baptist State Convention’s committee on boards and commissions and on other convention committees. He earned his bachelor’s from Samford University in Birmingham; master’s from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas; and doctorate of ministry from Reformed Seminary. King and his wife, Frances, have three children and three grandchildren.
