Circuit Judge Charles E. Robinson made it clear March 17 that the electronic bingo gambling case pending in St. Clair County is intense and he planned to study it carefully.
“I’m going to rule according to the law,” Robinson said during the hearing. “I don’t like what I’m having to do but that’s my job.”
Robinson originally said he would rule no later than March 24 but at press time, he said he would rule by April 1.
“I have a lot to study before making the decision,” Robinson said as he adjourned the hearing. He also predicted the case ultimately would be decided by the state Supreme Court because he believes whichever side loses will appeal.
