Baker-Pasma Families

Baker-Pasma Families

Livin’ for the Call
Independent release

Southern gospel music has always boasted unique family groups, but I don’t think I’ve ever come across one quite as unique as the Baker-Pasma Families. At the head of this group are two couples, Dale and Ginger Pasma and Randy and Dawn Baker. Their children take active roles in the group and quite possibly make this the largest group on the road today with 13 performing members.  Before I had even listened to this CD, I had decided that I wasn’t going to like it. I figured that was way too many people. But by the time the chorus came around on the first song, “Grace Steps In,” I was sold. Featuring the oldest daughters in a female quartet, these ladies are the stars of this group. They are simply amazing.

It was neat hearing the different configurations of the group sing. There are three to four different groups within this one large entourage. As far as the recording goes, the music tracks are first rate and song selection is good. I will admit it does tend to get bogged down with too many singers, but they do manage to pull it all off pretty well.
