Scholarship to Honor Two Sisters

The lives of Samford University graduates Beth Woolley Rowland and Alana Woolley have been recognized by their parents with the endowment of a scholarship in their memory.

The two sisters both died of cancer within two years of each other.

The elder of the two, Rowland, died in 2003 from complications related to a melanoma. She met her husband, David Rowland, during their freshman year at Samford.

Woolley died of sarcoma in 2004. After graduating from Samford, she began a 23-year career at the International Mission Board (IMB) in Richmond, Va.

The scholarship will be awarded annually to a female undergraduate student preparing for full-time Christian service.
