Alabama Baptists tapped to serve in SBC roles

Alabama Baptists will serve in strategic roles at this year’s Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) annual meeting in Indianapolis June 23–24, and some will continue that service during the next few years on a SBC committee or board.

SBC President Johnny Hunt has named members of the Committee on Committees and Tellers Committee for the annual meeting:

• Dusty McLemore, pastor of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church, Athens, and Charles Brown, pastor of Government Street Baptist Church, Mobile, will serve on the Committee on Committees.

• Carlos Lemus, pastor of Pueblo de Dios, Prattville, and Sid Nichols, director of missions for Calhoun Baptist Association, will serve on the Tellers Committee.

Alabamians nominated to serve on a committee or board:

• Scott A. Ferguson, pastor of Westview Baptist Church, Opp — Executive Committee, second term.

• Cliff Knight, associate pastor of family ministries of Lakeview Baptist Church, Auburn — second term, LifeWay Christian Resources.

• Ed Litton, pastor of First Baptist Church, North Mobile, in Saraland — second term, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

• Larry W. Felkins, director of missions for Chilton Baptist Association — second term, Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary.

• Eunie W. Smith, a member of First Baptist Church, Birmingham — second term, Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission. (BP)
