Jeffrey W. Bennett. Frederick, Md.: Publish America, 2001. 242 pp. (Paperback).
Quite frankly, this is an exciting and highly readable Christian novel that deserves a large audience. Its author is an Alabamian.
It’s about John, who wants to be an airline pilot. Fresh from the Vietnam War, he begins an odyssey flying missionaries over the jungles of Indonesia. He plans to stay a short time, but he didn’t count on meeting Marta, a widowed missionary. In spite of different motivations, the two are somehow drawn to one another. Readers will enjoy and appreciate this “love story,” which points up such virtues as romance, love, commitment and doing God’s will.
Bennett is a private pilot who was an Army officer. He lives with his wife, Kathleen, in Madison, near Huntsville.
