Retired Alabama Baptist pastor James David Kelly died Jan. 14. He was 79.
Kelly, a Greenville native and Mobile resident, served 52 years as a pastor of Baptist churches in Florida and Alabama, including Riverside Baptist, Mobile; Travis Road Baptist, Mobile; and First Baptist, Florala. After his retirement from Woodlawn Baptist Church, Crestview, Fla., he served many churches in part-time and interim positions.
Kelly was a member of the executive committee of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions. He also served as vice president of the Alabama Baptist Pastors Conference.
Kelly is survived by his wife of 60 years, Grace; three children; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. (TAB)
