Frederick Reese told the story of his involvement in the civil rights movement at Judson Feb. 14 during the college’s Black History Month emphasis.
Reese, a retired educator and pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Selma, was one of the original signers of the letter sent to Martin Luther King Jr. in December 1964, inviting the renowned civil rights leader to help in the voting rights movement in the city.
Reese encouraged his audience to seek the will of God in their lives, whatever it might be. “Start your day with prayer and end it with prayer,” he said.
