Monday Morning

Monday Morning

Fool’s Paradise
Selectric Records

Monday Morning can initially seem rather cookie-cutter. Every three or four minutes though, it loses a little cookie and begins cutting like a band that could stick around for a while, with buzz-saw guitars, hard-pounding drums and vocals that range from satiny smooth radio-rock crooning to near screaming.

It’s a four-piece rock act with a definite tilt toward altar-call-style emotion but with an edgy extra dimension to its song structure not found in youth conference house bands.

The production of “Fool’s Paradise” is more layered than a thousand-dollar wedding cake, but if you like bands like Our Lady Peace and Switchfoot, you might be inclined to cut yourself a piece of Monday Morning’s music — it’s worth every bite.
