Kenneth Mathews, professor at Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, will be the featured speaker during Judson College’s annual Christian Emphasis Week Jan. 17–19.
Mathews has taught Old Testament and Hebrew at Beeson since 1989 after previous service at Dallas Baptist University and The Criswell College in Dallas.
The theme of the week will be Creation and Blessing, based on the first 12 chapters of the Book of Genesis.
Mathews will speak at daily convocations at 11:10 a.m. in the Ramsay/McCrummen Chapel as well as serving as guest lecturer in a number of classes.

Additionally Mathews will conduct a preaching seminar for pastors, The Gospel According to Genesis, on the afternoon of Jan. 19.
The seminar is jointly sponsored by Judson and the office of LeaderCare and church administration of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions.
