Q: How did you become a Christian?
A: I grew up in a small country church where a couple decided to help the church by reaching the children, and I was one of those children. During a Friday night revival service in 1950, the nice lady led me to Christ.
Q: When and how were you led into the ministry?
A: One year after I became a Christian on July 15, 1951, God called me into the ministry. I first became our Sunday School superintendent, and God kept calling me into the ministry.
Q: What does the ministry demand from you?
A: It demands me to be the shepherd of my flock. Whether they are sick, hurting or have a need, I will be there.
Q: What do you get from the ministry?
A: I receive a deep satisfaction [because] God (is) using me to reach people.
Q: How do family members support you?
A: They are all very supportive. They all stayed in church, and my wife will go above and beyond for me.
Q: How do you see yourself involved in this in the future?
A: I am going to keep preaching in that pulpit where the Lord calls me. I never had a desire to pastor a large church. I love the small church, and that is where I will stay. … If I leave this church, I will find another one to introduce them to Jesus, serve them and send them out.
