New Hope Publishers named publisher of year

New Hope Publishers, the publishing arm of national Woman’s Missionary Union, was awarded publisher of the year by the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association (AWSA) at its Golden Scroll Awards Banquet, held June 12 on the eve of the International Christian Retail Show.

This is the first AWSA win for the Birmingham-based publisher.  New Hope had been nominated for the award in years past and was a finalist last year.

“The New Hope Publishers staff is elated to have this honor bestowed by our authors,” said Andrea Mullins, publisher of New Hope.

“We treasure the partnership we share with this impressive organization. We will continue to develop our relationship with our authors by seeking to bring Jesus Christ to the world through their ministry as writers.”

Seven New Hope authors were present at the banquet. The keynote message was brought by New Hope author Jennifer Kennedy Dean, who has written more than 10 books, including “Heart’s Cry,” the National Day of Prayer signature book, and the best-selling “Live a Praying Life.”

This recent success comes on the heels of three New Hope products being selected as Resources of the Year by Outreach magazine earlier this spring.

Those accolades were bestowed upon “City Signals” by Brad Smith, the accompanying “City Signals DVD Leader Kit” by Ray Bakke and “Faces in the Crowd” by Donna S. Thomas. (WMU)
