Winston Baptist Association on mission

Winston Baptist Association sponsored a missions trip for the 18th consecutive year.

Representing 14 Winston Association churches and three Muscle Shoals Baptist Association churches, a 79-member team traveled to Portland, Tenn., July 11–18 to work with New Hope Baptist Church, which in its 145-year history has never had Sunday School rooms.

The team was divided into three groups: food, construction and ministry. The construction group installed Sheetrock, brick and heating and cooling units; did framing; and assisted with electrical and plumbing needs for the Sunday School rooms.

The ministry group hosted Vacation Bible School and saw four children make salvation decisions.

“We go intending to be a blessing, but really and truly, we wind up getting blessed,” said Al Hood, director of missions for Winston Association and team leader.
