“Counting on God,” the first track off of “Fearless,” the latest effort from CCM mainstays Phillips, Craig & Dean, says something very good about the state of Christian music.
That three full-time senior pastors that first combined forces when Sandi Patti ruled Christian radio can kick off their 17th album with a song containing lyrics like “The miracle of Christ in me, the mystery that sets me free” and a sound reminiscent, somehow reminiscent, of early U2, Kings of Leon, and The Police? Yes, it says very good things. This is a great record.
