Want to know God?

In today’s world, some ask, “In what or whom can one trust?” Some trust in their financial balance sheets, only to learn that life is not in stuff. Others trust in government to deliver them but find empty promises. Still others place their trust in religion, yet their lives are empty ritual.

Let me submit to you that you can place your trust in Jesus Christ. He is worthy of your trust, because He displayed how much He loves us.

Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

How many of us are moved by the stories of veterans who are alive today because someone in their unit sacrificed themselves? Through the cross, Christ says to you, “I love you so much that I am willing to bear your sins, to be the sacrifice.”

Romans 10:13 says, “Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”

The Lord boldly proclaims that when one surrenders his or her life to Him, He will give him or her purpose in life. When one comes to Christ, he or she receives an eternal home called heaven.

Ephesians 2:8–9 says, “For by grace you have been savedthrough faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.”

Scripture clearly states that salvation is not based on the merit system. You cannot earn your way into heaven by being good or through years of religious effort.

The question I have for you today is will you trust Christ to be your Lord and Savior? Trust means that you are willing to surrender your life to the Lord Jesus. You are taking God at His word to do for you what you cannot do for yourself. Men may make promises and fail; this is not so with the Father.

I know this to be true, because at the age of 9 when I placed my trust in Him, Jesus saved me. In Him, I have purpose and meaning in life.

Friend, trust Christ to be your Savior and life. When you do, you will learn the truth — He is not the God of religion but the God of a relationship.
