Brank, Carlton E.

Former Alabama Baptist pastor Carlton E. Brank died March 5. He was 71.

A graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., Brank served six Alabama Baptist churches: Louisville Baptist Church in Barbour Association; South Side Baptist Church, Russellville, in Franklin Association; First Baptist Church, Eclectic, in Elmore Association; First Baptist Church, Stevenson, in Tennessee River Association; First Baptist Church, Midfield, in Birmingham Association; and Greensboro Baptist Church in Hale Association. He also served as interim pastor of Oakdale Baptist Church, Ramer, in Alabama Crenshaw Association and pastor of one church in Indiana.

Brank served on the executive committee of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions and the Alabama Baptist Retirement Centers board of directors. He also served as chairman of the board of governors for Judson College in Marion. At the time of his death, Brank was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, Montgomery, in Montgomery Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janelle Watkins Brank, and two grandsons and is survived by three children and four grandchildren. (TAB)
