Alabama Baptists and the general public are invited to participate in the dedication of the new recreation center at the Nobile cam pus of Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries June 24. The dedication will begin at 10 a.m. and will be followed by a reception in the new facility.

The 640-square foot building adjoins the pool at the Mobile campus and has been made possible by a financial gift from a member of North Mobile Baptist Church who wishes to remain anonymous, according to Jim Chinners, Children’s Homes area director for southwestern Alabama.”The center will be helpful for summer recreation because we can have 24 children and youth in our care at the Mobile campus,” Chinner said. “This new building will enable us to have recreation activities at all times of the year, regardless of the weather and regardless of whether it is daytime or nighttime.” While the facility is complete, Chinners said other things are needed, such as patio furniture and a barbeque grill.
