Alabama Baptist State Convention (ABSC) President Mike McLemore was recently named to the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) tellers committee for the June 12-13 SBC annual meeting in New Orleans.
McLemore, pastor of Lakeside Baptist Church, Hoover, is one of 15 members of Sagemont Baptist Church, Houston,, serving as committee chairman.
McLemore Was elected president of ABSC during the Nov. 14-15, 2000, annual meeting of Alabama Baptists.
A native of Athens, McLemore has undergraduate degrees from John C. Calhoun Junior College in Athens and Samford University in Birmingham.
McLemore holds a master of divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He also served four years in the United States Air Force. He has served in several local and state committee and board capacities as well as several churches in Alabama before coming to Lakeside Baptist Church.
McLemore and his wife, Wanda, have three children. (TAB)
