Trapp, William T.

Former Alabama pastor William T. Trapp died Dec. 31, 2000, following a three-year battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

A graduate of The University of Alabama and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, Trapp served as pastor of York Terrace Baptist Church in Sheffield from 1974-1979 and Woodmont Baptist Church in Florence from 1987-2000. He also served as pastor of West Parkway Baptist Church in Azle, Texas, from 1979-1987.

Trapp is survived by his wife, Laura; three sons, Brady, Brian and Brett, all of Florence; one brother, Gary Trapp of Winston-Salem, N.C. (TAB)
