GuideOne Insurance encourages church youth groups and young artists across the country to participate in a poster contest for a chance to win $50 and have their artwork featured in a 2011 calendar.
The annual Keeping America’s Churches Safe poster contest and calendar features 13 pieces of artwork representing important safety and security issues in churches.
Posters should depict a scenario focusing on travel safety, fire prevention, storm and weather preparation, playground and playroom rules, youth camp safety, protecting elderly members or other situations about church safety and security.
Artists must be under the age of 18 to enter. Posters should be created horizontally on an 8.5-by-11-inch sheet of paper, using materials like crayons, markers or paint. Entries that are three-dimensional, electronically created, glued or stapled will not be accepted.
A separate sheet of paper with the artist’s full name, age, phone number, personal mailing address and church name should be included with each entry. Posters should be mailed in a large envelope, since entries may not be folded or creased.
All entries must be postmarked by July 31 to be eligible for judging. Please mail entries to GuideOne Insurance, Attn: Jillian Sievel, 1111 Ashworth Road, West Des Moines, IA 50265.
The 13 winners will be announced by mid-August. (GuideOne)
