More than 800 children learned how to worship through music during Older Children’s Music Week at Shocco Springs Conference Center in Talladega. The conferences, held July 16-20 and July 23-27, were sponsored by the office of worship leadership/church music of the Alabama Baptist State Convention.
Children from Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida were given the opportunity to learn music, to worship God and to fellowship with believers.
“I am a strong believer in ministering to children,” said conference director Ray Burdeshaw, director of worship leadersip/church music. “If we don’t reach them when they are children, we’ll lose them.”
Camp pastors were David Blakeney, pastor of Farley Community Church in Huntsville, and Ed Cleveland, minister of music at Meadow Brook Baptist Church in Birmingham.
