The city of San Antonio recognized Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary’s contribution to its communities and churches in an official proclamation Oct. 7.
The proclamation was presented during the celebration of the seminary’s 25th anniversary of its San Antonio extension at Parkhills Baptist Church.
The proclamation, signed by Mayor Edward Garza, was read by Jack Terry, vice president of institutional advancement at Southwestern, during a convention ceremony at the church.
The proclamation noted that the seminary has provided and continues to provide” local students with outstanding facilities in which to engage in ministerial education.”
More than 1,800 south Texas ministers have received theological training at Southwestern’s South-Texas extension since 1990.
