Pat Hart, Bob Terry wed March 22

Patricia Creel Hart and Bobby S. Terry were united in holy matrimony March 22 at Birmingham’s Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood.

Performing the ceremony were Dawson Pastor Gary Fenton and Charles T. Carter, pastor emeritus of Shades Mountain Baptist Church, Vestavia Hills.

The couple’s children stood with their parents as the bride and groom exchanged vows.

Jennifer Hart, daughter of the bride, served as maid of honor and Brent Terry, son of the groom, was best man.

Bridesmaids were Jean Terry Cullen, daughter of the groom, and Lee Ann Terry, daughter-in-law of the groom.

Groomsmen were Lon Cullen, son-in-law of the groom, and Taylor Hart, son of the bride.

The ceremony began at 7 p.m. and carried a worshipful tone throughout the 45-minute service.

Bill O’Brien, former director of the Beeson Divinity School Global Center, sang and led congregational hymns. The congregation also participated in responsive readings.

Well-wishers from across the state, nation and world celebrated with the newly-weds during a reception held immediately following the ceremony.

The Terry’s will reside in Birmingham where Pat, a registered dietician, serves as chair of the department of human sciences and design at Samford University and Bob serves as editor of The Alabama Baptist.
