Samford University will offer two sessions of a sports and technology camp for youngsters ages 6 through 16 this summer. Participants may choose from two sessions: June 17-21 or June 24-28. Each camp will meet 8 a.m. until 12 noon each day.
The Sports and Technology Camp is designed to promote an appreciation for a physically active lifestyle. Activities include aquatics, motor skills, fitness, age appropriate strength training and a technology component. Participants may create an electronic portfolio including fitness test results and information on sports and physical activity.
Fitness tests will be conducted on each camper to assess initial levels of fitness and to track improvement throughout the camp.
Camp instructors are faculty and staff of Samford’s Department of Exercise Science and Sports Medicine (ESSM), and upper-level ESSM majors.
