Judson Equestrians Earn Two First Place Awards

The hunt seat equestrian team traveled to Athens, Ga., to compete in the Valentine’s Day Classic on Feb. 12. Faith Williams, of Crossville, placed fifth and sixth in her jumper and flat class. Heather Hodge, of Thomasville, won fifth in advanced walk/trot/canter. Beverly Cox, of Athens, placed third in her beginner walk/trot/canter class. Laura Hyer, of Marion Junction, and Rebecca O’Neal, of Chatom, competed in beginner walk/trot. Hyer placed sixth and O’Neal placed fourth. On Feb. 13, Williams placed third in her jumper class. Megan Cook, of Bothell, Wash., competed in advanced walk/trot/canter class and won the first blue ribbon of the weekend for Judson. Cox placed sixth. Two groups competed Feb. 13 in walk/trot. Hyer, in group one, placed second. O’Neal, in group two, placed first and earned the second blue ribbon. Judson won a total of eleven ribbons during the competition.
