SBC board, committee nominees include Alabamians

Several Alabamians were included in the nominees to serve on the SBC Executive Committee, the four denominational boards- International Mission Board, North American Mission Board, LifeWay Christian Resources and Annuity Board-Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, the six seminaries and the Committee on Order of Business selected by the 2001 Committee on Nominations.

Donald P. Cotton, Albertville, was nominated for a second term on the Executive Committee (82 memvers-21 nominations considered; seven new members; 14 renominations.)

Kenneth R. Clement, Elmore, was nominated for a second term on the board of LifeWay Christian Resources (59 members- 15 nominations considered; seven new members; eight renominations.)

Buddy Gray, Hoover, was nominated for a second term at Southern Seminary (65 members- 14 nominations considered; six new members; eight renominations.)

Calvin Kelly, Birmingham, was nominated for Golden Gate Seminary with term expiring 2004 (39 members- 11 nominations considered; eight new members; three renominations.)

R. Dale Wallace Jr., Birmingham, was nominated for a second term on the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (34 members-nine nominations considered; four new members; five renominations.)

Terry Herald, Huntsville; and Gary Hollingsworth, Trussville, were appointed to the Committee on Committees. The committee has 70 members, two from each of the 35 state or regional conventions qualified for representation on SBC entities.
