Rogers to lead Baptist communicators group

 

Doug Rogers, communications coordinator for the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions (SBOM), recently accepted the president’s gavel of Baptist Communicators Association (BCA).

BCA is a professional organization that assists Baptist personnel in communications with professional growth and fulfillment.

Rogers, who has been with the SBOM for four years oversees the electronic and print media for the SBOM.

His primary responsibility is producing video and audio tapes for use by the SBOM staff and Baptist churches throughout the state.

Rogers also coordinates technical arrangements for the state convention annual meeting each year as well as other statewide meetings.

Previously Rogers served South Carolina Baptists in a similar capacity.

He and his wife, Lori, are members of Vaughn Forest Baptist Church, Montgomery. They have three children.

Tim Yarbrough of the North American Mission Board is the outgoing president. He handed the gavel over to Rogers during the April BCA meeting in San Diego, Calif.

Rogers’ term begins July 1 and will run through June 30, 2004. He will preside over the 50th anniversary BCA convention in 2004 in St. Louis, Mo.
