The young Indonesian women borrowed a motorcycle and made their way to town. They were on a quest to provide for their families. They found Bill and Dellanna O’Brien and explained their desire to start up business. “These women just want to find a way to support their families without depending on handouts,” Bill O’Brien said.
The O’Briens contacted the national Woman’s Missionary Union Foundation to ask for a Humanitarian Emergency Aid for Rebuilding Tomorrow (HEART) Fund grant. A $5,000 grant was given to Compassion Frisco, the organization sponsoring the O’Briens, to help start micro-business in Indonesia.
Grants were also given out to help pipe water into homes in villages, to build new homes and purchase boats.
