What is the best way to reach more than 600 people at one time? Host a block party, of course.
Teman Knight, as associate in the office of evangelism of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions (SBOM), said block parties are the best way to reach large numbers of people.
The block parties being held as part of Crossover Mobile are some of the best, according to the results.
Knight reported that almost 800 people have attended block parties and block party training events. Of those, 92 people and counting made professions of faith.
Two more block parties are scheduled to happen the weekend before the convention.
“It’s a great Crossover when you have nine professions of faith during a training event,” Knight said. “We’re ahead of where we were last year in Birmingham.”
Crossover is a series of events designed to give Baptists evangelical opportunities in the cities hosting the annual state conventions.
“It’s an opportunity to do the Lord’s business and not just decide about the Lord’s business,” Knight said.
