Margaret Prestel is 80 years old and very active in her church. A retired teacher, Prestel has taught Sunday School for 65 years. She also teaches English as a Second Language classes and is missions coordinator for the church WMU group.
Q: What led you to teach Sunday School?
A: I’ve been teaching Sunday School since I was 15 years old. I started with little ones and progressed along with my age to the older ladies.
Q: Why have you continued to do all these different activities?
A: I love the Lord and I am just delighting in serving Him, and I love to study His Word.
Q: What does this ministry demand?
A: A lot of time.
Q: What do you get from this ministry?
A: Joy, peace and satisfaction.
Q: How do other family members support you?
A: I had a wonderful, godly husband who encouraged me in all these things. All of my children love the Lord and serve Him wherever they are.
Q: How do you see yourself involved in these activities in the future?
A: I plan on hanging in there as long as I can.
Q: What difference will these activities make for you in the future?
A: Just knowing that I am servicing by blessed Lord gives me that wonderful peace, and I think that’s just how I’ll be until He takes me home.
