December Southern Baptist CP giving down from 2001

Gifts to the Southern Baptist Convention’s (SBC) Cooperative Program (CP) in December were 14.81 percent below gifts for December 2001, according to a news release from SBC Executive Committee President and Chief Executive Officer Morris H. Chapman.

Year-to-date support for CP Missions is 2.32 percent behind totals at this same point last year.

The $12,446,383.72 in December Cooperative Program gifts to support Southern Baptist ministries globally and across North America compared to $14,610,892.95 in December 2001, a difference of $2,164,509.23.

In year-to-date Cooperative Program giving, $42,356,406.56 has been received, compared with $43,363,572.33 in 2001-2002, a decrease of $1,007,165.77.

For the SBC Cooperative Program Allocation Budget, the December receipts of $12,446,383.72 were 84.4 percent of the budgeted $14,746,866.83 or $2,300,483.11 below the budget goal.

The SBC operates on an Oct. 1-Sept. 30 fiscal year.
