The University of Mobile (UM) recently held its first fall homecoming during soccer season.
The culmination of the weekend was Saturday evening’s crowning of this year’s homecoming queen and king during the halftime of the men’s soccer game. Hali Williams, a senior business communication major from Thomasville was crowned homecoming queen. Matt “RoRo” Spradlin, a senior religion major from Valley, was crowned homecoming king.
Among homecoming events were golf at Spring Hill Gold Course, a storytellers concert and coffeehouse, providing short stories and cover songs, alumni association meeting, lunch with professors, and ultimate Frisbee tournament, matinee performance of “Annie” by UM’s Upper Room Dinner Theatre, and the Rammy’s award show, honoring the silly and serious of UM life, and a chapel service in the historic Lyon Chapel.
The service featured founding president William K. Weaver Jr. and current president Mark Foley, the alumni choir and the singing ensemble Vision.
