Q: Why do you do this?
A: There’s a need and it is rewarding for me to get to share with each team and the umpires. We’re sharing Christian fellowship.
Q: What does it demand?
A: Preparation, going to the park on Sunday afternoon and flexibility with the schedule. It’s just a little time but it’s all worth it. It’s a joy to do this.
Q: What do you get from the ministry?
A: It’s a wonderful ministry. I get a blessing out of just preparing for baseball chapel. We have such wonderful support from the Mobile BayBears. They are very supportive in the ministry.
Q: How do your family members support you?
A: They love me through it. They enjoy hearing the different experiences that we have at the ballpark. They are very supportive of what I’m doing.
Q: How do you see yourself involved in this in the future?
A: I will do this as long as I feel I’m effective. In my life and ministry, I want to be used to share God’s love, and this door just opened up.
Q: What difference will this make for you in the future?
A: I will grow through the relationships that I’ve developed with these players. I’m going to become a better minister by having this experience.
