Michael G. “Mike” Maloy, senior pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Millry, died Nov. 11. He was
63.
A Mobile County native, Maloy received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Mobile.
Before he was called into full-time ministry, Maloy worked as an information technology director for a national corporation.
He began his pastoral work as a bivocational pastor for Big Creek Baptist Church, Fairview, followed by an interim pastorate at New Faith Baptist Church, Coffeeville.
Before coming to Pleasant Hill Baptist, Maloy served as senior pastor of Stave Creek Baptist Church, Jackson; and Antioch Baptist Church, Leakesville, Miss.
According to Michael Olewski, director of missions for Washington Baptist Association, Maloy was elected associational evangelism director at the annual meeting Oct. 17.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda; two daughters; and three grandchildren. (TAB)
