Reigning in His Power: A Study on How to Rein in the Power of the Holy Spirit in Your Daily Walk

Reigning in His Power: A Study on How to Rein in the Power of the Holy Spirit in Your Daily Walk

Jane Boston. Bloomington, Ind.: WestBow Press, 2011. 136 pp. (Paperback).

The back-of-the-book blurb on “Reigning in His Power” is a little unsettling, touting the author as “a living example that God’s ways lead to success, peace and results.” The blurb goes on to say that Jane Boston has built a million-dollar company “by accessing the power of the Holy Spirit.” Whoa, is this one of those prosperity gospel books?

No, actually. While some of the author’s assertions may veer toward the edge of conservative theology, the blurb is, in a word, misleading. Instead, it is a compelling look at how God leads and guides those who seek Him.

The book is packaged as a study, but the “study” portion is weak, somewhat lacking in lacking depth and scriptural emphasis.

As a personal testimony, however, the book is a powerful affirmation of the power available to Christians.
