Content concern

As a supporter of The Alabama Baptist, I am greatly troubled by an article on page 4 of the Dec. 8 edition of the paper. The subject matter of the article involves the heartbreaking matter of pastors struggling with pornography. The content of the article references The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon church) in such a way that one might be led to believe it should be seen as another Christian denomination.

Mormons are not Christians. They do not believe in the God of the Bible. They have a very unorthodox view of the Lord Jesus Christ. Their “sacred” writings include much more than the revealed word of God found in the Bible. Mormons are lost people who need to know the Truth.

The people at The Alabama Baptist are aware of the facts about Mormons and have in the past faithfully shared this with readers. I know everyone at the paper desires to honor God in all they do as they inform and educate Alabamians. Please be careful with the responsibility you have to influence people’s lives.
