Former Alabama Baptist pastor Travis Styles died July 31. He was 84.
A native of Alabama, Styles graduated from Howard College (now Samford University) in Birmingham and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C.
During his 60 years of ministry, he served as pastor of churches in Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina. Styles also served in other roles, including service on the Home Mission Board (now the North American Mission Board).
He was a World War II veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and other commendations for his service in Germany and France.
Styles is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bernadine; three children; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. (TAB)
