Q: When did you come to know the Lord?
A: I made my profession of faith at a revival when I was 17.
Q: How were you led to serve as a Sunday School teacher?
A: I attended the Mid-South Bible College in Memphis, Tenn., and worshiped at the Presbyterian church there. I moved to Mobile in 1960 and began attending Orchard Baptist Church, where I have been a member ever since. I was asked to teach the ladies Sunday School class and have taught for 51 years.
Q: What difference has Jesus Christ made in your life?
A: I was a homemaker most of my life — with the exception of serving as church secretary — taking care of children and grandchildren as well as my parents until their death. Christ has always been the source of my strength. … I have always encouraged my friends and family to trust in Christ and put their faith in Him.
Q: How do family members support you in your ministry?
A: When my husband became ill in 1989, my son and daughter came every Sunday so I could continue teaching my class. And since I gave up driving last year, my son has driven me to church every Sunday.
