Like the spine tingles you get from the church scene in “Home Alone,” MercyMe stuffs our stockings with “The Christmas Sessions,” a 12-song electric candy cane of a record.
To get a better idea, imagine expecting Christmas carolers but getting a full rock opera when opening the door. Then imagine drinking percolated punch with a bunch of youth ministers in fleece pullovers, all of whom recently graduated from a Christian college and are serious about their call to preach.
