I have read with interest, and some dismay, recent articles in The Alabama Baptist pertaining to the growth of Calvinism among Southern Baptists, and I indeed agree there is an “elephant in the room.”
Editor Bob Terry’s fine article of July 19 is very enlightening and encouraging since he points out another way besides Calvinism: the traditional Baptist way of salvation.
My conclusion is the Baptist Calvinists are in the wrong denomination. This group needs to take its questionable beliefs such as infant baptism, etc., and affiliate with a like-minded group, thus avoiding future division and dissension with the Southern Baptist Convention.
