Romachana is a squatter village just a few kilometers outside of Rustenburg, South Africa. Some four years ago a church was “planted” there by the church at Tlhabane.
Faithful women and children have met there even when there has been no pastor. We have prayed for the Lord to give us some young men who will pour their lives into such churches.
Recently a young man named Edwin has begun to help us with this work. He has a passion to preach, a quiet, unassuming manner, and we are letting him give some leadership there.
The people in Romachana asked for a Bible study on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 after work.
At our first session, we started a study in Philippians. Most of you know that the book is all about joy in the face of adverse circumstances.
It is full of promises for our daily walk with the Lord. The church at Philippi was started in a city with no synagogue when Paul found a group of women praying by the river.
This is the Romachana story — a small group of women praying, a church is born, and they have joy in spite of their circumstances.
