Roy L. Williams. 248 pp. Call author: 205-325-2471. (Hardback).
Subtitled “A Journalist’s Tale of Faith,” this powerful and moving book about loss and change tells “how losing a brother in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack transformed a news reporter into a witness for God.” Names and places have been changed to protect the privacy of all individuals, but the events are factual.
The author’s brother was Army Major Dwayne Williams who was killed when five Muslim extremists hijacked a jetliner and steered it into the Pentagon in our nation’s capital on that fateful day in 2001. The major thesis of this work focuses on the dramatic, positive change in the author’s life resulting from this tragedy.
Birmingham city council President Lee Wendell Loder writes, “Roy L. Williams has been transformed by fate into a drum major for justice, a representative of righteousness, an ambassador of good will.”
Needless to say, perhaps, this marvelous production should be read by all who need inspiration, especially those who have experienced personal tragedy and loss.
