When Heaven Came Down
Self published — michaelmilton.org
Michael Milton, singer/songwriter, author and theologian, has released his first Christmas CD, “When Heaven Came Down,” a collection of 15 original songs that range from Celtic to acoustic ballads to symphonic. Milton describes the record as “a desire to express the drama, beauty and wonder of the Incarnation, when God became Man.” Long-time accompanist Cindy Gibbs joins him on vocals.
Milton’s lilting vocals are beautifully framed by lush, mostly acoustic arrangements. Gibbs’ accompanying vocals, ranging from plaintive to ethereal, add significantly to the power of the record. Award-winning singer/songwriter Buddy Greene (“Mary, Did You Know”) jumps in on harmonica on “Carolina Christmas.”
Milton’s new CD is distributed through Reformed Theological Seminary and can be found on Amazon and iTunes.
This is a gentle and beautiful Christmas and Advent record that deserves a place in your holiday playlist.
