Mike McLemore is someone you should know. Along with serving as pastor of Lakeside Baptist Church in Birmingham since 1983 and presiding over the Alabama Baptist State Convention from 2001 to 2002, he has served on The Alabama Baptist board of directors for 12 years.
Q: Why did you begin serving on the board of directors at The Alabama Baptist?
A: Dr. Hudson Baggett originally asked me to serve.
Q: What does this position demand from you?
A: Some time, but the relationships with others have been a joy.
Q: What do you get from being in this role at The Alabama Baptist?
A: I feel it is a way to give back to Alabama Baptists who have given so much to me.
Q: How do other family members support you?
A: My wife usually attends the board meetings with me. My family is very supportive.
Q: How do you see yourself involved with The Alabama Baptist in the future?
A: I hope to serve the paper as a goodwill ambassador as long as I can.
Q: What difference will being a board member at The Alabama Baptist make for you in the future?
A: It will be an enriching experience as it always has been. I hope it will cause more people to come to know about the paper and subscribe to it.
