Eddie Kirkland, accomplished worship leader and music director at North Point Community Church, Alpharetta, Ga., has released his first album on the North Point Music label titled “Kings & Queens.” The title is a reference to Kirkland’s musings regarding God’s purpose for us here and now, that we are kings and queens in God’s kingdom and that heaven isn’t “just a lifeboat, a way off this sinking ship we call Earth.”

Those familiar with North Point Music will rightly guess that this record is expertly recorded and produced, full of great, hooky melodies, explosive dynamics and excellent musicianship.

Kirkland’s lyrics, with occasional help from Steve Fee, Don Chaffer, Keith Balltzglier and Todd Fields are spot on for this kind of worship music, and Kirkland’s clear, expressive vocals absolutely kill.
