It’s not too late to protect yourself and your family from the flu. Baptist Health System encourages everyone to follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Alabama Department of Public Health, which include:
• Get a flu shot. It’s not too late; the season runs through early April. Everyone over 6 months of age should get the flu vaccine. You are protected approximately two weeks after you receive the flu vaccine.
• Help prevent the spread of flu by:
— washing your hands frequently with soap and water
— covering your cough; sneezing into a tissue
— staying home if you are sick
— avoiding touching your nose, mouth and eyes
