Christian station in Iran celebrates anniversary

IRAN — A Christian television broadcast ministry to Iran celebrated its first anniversary Sept. 12. Each week, an estimated 175,000 Christians who live in or near Iran have the chance to tune in to Iranian Christian Broadcasting’s (ICB) programs. ICB is currently broadcasting six hours a week, from Thursdays to Sundays. The programs are produced in Farsi, the official language of Iran. As broadcast hours are expanding, so is the number of programs produced by ICB. In September, ICB started broadcasting a 13-episode Christian drama with a humorous touch called “White as Snow” about three Iranian students and their activities.

“After a year we can look back and thank God for the vision, the people that He brought together, their hard work and His strength and guidance which made all this possible,” an ICB producer said. Besides Iran, ICB broadcasts also reach people in Lebanon, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Cyprus and western Europe.
